Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th August, 1956, at Woodland Hills, California, the only child of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her parents were an unemployed mother who worked as an housewife, and a father who taught. Her three brothers are older: Michael, Dennis and Kevin. McCormick was a talented singer and dancer from an early age. She would perform puppet shows to children from the neighborhood she lived in. Later that year, she starred in another commercial for Mattel's "Chatty the Cathy" doll. She was then part of the production"Wind It up and It breaks, which was staged in the Playhouse at La Jolla Playhouse. McCormick won a 1969 audition from 1,200 kids to be the youngest of three twins in the TV series The Brady Bunch.
